*UPDATE: The Trail Riders of Houston will be providing a fajita lunch to all that attend. Remember to bring your own drinks.
The Trail Riders of Houston will be hosting a work day in the Sam Houston National Forest on January 14th, 2017 at 9:00AM. The start location will be at the Kelly's Pond Campground and Trailhead on the West Side of Lake Conroe. GPS coordinates below.
The focus of this work day is to clear brush around the bridges within the trail system in order to prevent loss of the bridges from planned controlled burns. This work will also bring us closer to the west side MUT being opened for recreational use.
Workers will ride into the trail system to the bridges and cut brush around the bridges, so please bring loppers, machetes, and if you have current sawyer certification (including first aid cert), a chainsaw. You must have a 2017 ORV sticker on your bike (available on site for $20), and meet all the necessary forestry requirements (i.e. spark arrestor, helmet, etc.). As always, bring water, and TRH will be providing lunch for it's members (menu to be announced at a later date).
Please contact Eric Pullen to RSVP (only if you plan on attending) or if you have any questions or need any further information.
